1923 Season 2: Austinite Daniel Norton to Recur in Yellowstone Prequel

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 14, 2025

Daniel Norton will play a recurring role in the upcoming Season 2 of Yellowstone prequel series 1923.

imageNorton will play John, described as “Whitfield’s Butler.” He joins a cast that includes other Texas actors Nancy Gray, Jon Michael Davis, Bobbie Grace, Kareem Badr, Jenny Frame, Jordan O’Neal, Craig Nigh, Holt Boggs, and Amy Downing. The show also stars Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, Timothy Dalton, and Jennifer Carpenter.

In the second season of 1923, a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob (Ford) and Cara (Mirren) back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer (Sklenar) embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra (Schlaepfer) sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.

The first episode of the new season will premiere on Paramount+ on February 23.

Norton is perhaps best known for many roles in films produced in Austin, including the SXSW selection Tango Theory and the acclaimed political dystopian drama, Labor + Justice. He also appeared in the Discovery Channel series Detective Diaries. Norton is also a seasoned stage actor, appearing in such plays as Arsenic and Old Lace (Mortimer), A Skull in Connemara (Mick), and the FronteraFest Best-of-Fest Puppet Government (MC). In addition to his role in 1923, look for Norton in 2025 in the comedy Man-Child and in the second episode of the animated documentary drama, The Opioid Diaries.
